The Scott Paper Company invented paper towels in the 19th century roughly around the 1879 time when Irvin and Clarence Scott – two brothers from Philadelphia founded this paper company.
It turns out it was inspired a battle to tackle cold in school by a teacher who insisted that every student with a runny nose was handed a piece of soft paper so that germs wouldn’t contaminate the roller towels placed in toilets. Ingenious idea at the time but that was a eureka moment.
